96 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) who was eight years on the waiting list for treatment for an orthodontic condition was recently informed that her condition was not severe enough to qualify for treatment; and the reason she was not informed of this eight years ago when she was originally put on the waiting list.

As the provision of orthodontic treatment for eligible persons residing in County Galway is the responsibility of the Western Health Board, I have asked the chief executive officer of the health board to investigate the matter and to reply to the Deputy in regard to this person, as a matter of urgency.
