Ceist:56 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Health the amount of money that was paid by health agencies to reimburse consultants' malpractice insurance for each of the last five years.

Under the terms of the revised consultants contract, hospital consultants are reimbursed 80 to 90 per cent of their medical defence subscriptions.
The estimated cost to my Department of making these reimbursements for the last five years is as follows:
