Vol. 443 No. 5

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Crawford — The reason grant students from the Republic of Ireland who are studying radiography at Jordanstown University are not paid placement grants on being sent out to various hospitals in the area while their counterparts from Northern Ireland are in receipt of payment for this work; (2) Deputy De Rossa — The current difficulties facing Team Aer Lingus and the need for a Government injection of equity to avert the threat to the 2,000 jobs in the company and (3) Deputy Jim Mitchell — The problems in Aer Lingus and TEAM Aer Lingus; and the consequent threat to 1,600 jobs. The matter raised by Deputy Crawford is considered to be in order and has been selected for discussion accordingly.
