Vol. 443 No. 9

Written Answers. - Waterford School.

Brendan Kenneally

Ceist:

71 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Education when outstanding moneys will be paid to a school (details supplied) in Waterford in respect of building works carried out over seven years ago; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The payment of final grant in respect of a building project is contingent on certification to the satisfaction of my Department of the completed works. In the case in question, certain defects have been identified in the work and this matter has been the subject of ongoing consultations with the chairman of the board of management. My Department is awaiting further reports on the matter and when these have been received and examined the issue of eligible grant-aid can be further considered.
