Vol. 444 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

92 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will have arrangements made to have payment issued to a person (details supplied) in County Cork in respect of one animal for which the 22 month beef premium was not paid.

Arrangements are now being made to pay January/February 1993 Special Beef Premium in respect of the one animal not paid on to the person named in the near future.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

93 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if approval will be granted to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who has applied for the agricultural installation aid premium; if he will expedite approval in this case; and the reason for the delay to date.

It was not possible for my Department to complete an examination of this case because until recently details of the enterprises on the land held in the years 1979-1988 were not on file. This information has since been received but, due to additional work arising from the early retirement scheme in particular, the processing of the application has not yet been concluded.

It is now expected to have a final examination of this case completed within the next three weeks. If the applicant is found to be eligible payment will be made before the end of August.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

94 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will have his full entitlement for suckler cow premium payments approved on the basis of the numbers applied for; and if, in view of the fact that he has unified his own and his father's herds, as advised by Department officials, he will be given a suckler cow quota in line with his approved payment level for the reference year 1992.

The matter referred to by the Deputy is being investigated at present and my Department has been in contact with the person named. My Department will write to the herdowner shortly and detail the position.

Frank Crowley

Ceist:

95 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid the 1994 suckler cow grant.

The person named applied for premium on 17 cows under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme for small scale milk producers. This application could not be processed as the person named was not an applicant in 1992 under the suckler cow premium scheme and subsequently he does not have automatic quota rights. However, he has now applied to the national reserve for allocation of quota and if he is successful in obtaining quota his 1993 suckler cow premium application will then be considered.

Under EU regulations payments in respect of 1994 suckler cow premium may not commence before 1 November 1994 and even then only 60 per cent advances may be paid.
