The following recruitment to the Permanent Defence Forces has taken place to date in 1994; Recruits for general service — 500; Army and Air Corps Apprentices — 62; Army, and Air Corps and Naval Service Cadets — 34.
The question of further recruitment for general service is being kept under review in the light of operational commitments.
