The Operational Programme for Tourism, 1994-1999, provides EU funding of £23.208 million for the development of special interest holiday facilities. From within this aggregate sum, my Department has indicated an overall budget of £1 million for walking and cycling routes. No specific allocation for walking routes has been defined.
