Ceist:124 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education the time schedule for processing an application by a school to avail of a capital allocation for a building project, and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1176/94]
Written Answers. - School Building Project.
In the case of major projects a number of tasks have to be carried out following the initial application for capital funding for a building project. These tasks vary depending on the nature and complexity of the proposal, but fall into two main categories, an educational planning process and architectural planning process.
Applications for the provision of short term accommodation or other emergency type works require less detailed assessment.
The availability of resources and the Department's ongoing priorities and commitments must also be borne in mind. There is therefore no specific time schedule for processing applications.
