Vol. 445 No. 9

Written Answers. - Post Primary Education.

Mary Harney

Ceist:

247 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Education the number of children that left the national schools in the Kingswood and Kilnamanagh areas of Dublin 24 over the past five years; and the post-primary schools where they have been accommodated. [1464/94]

On the following statement, which I propose to circulate in the Official Report, are set out the number of children who, according to Department records, left the national schools in the Kingswood-Castleview and Kilnamanagh areas over the past five years.

A complete listing of where each child from these national schools attended post-primary school is not available within my Department. The majority of children from these areas over the past five years have been accommodated in the following schools:— Drimnagh CBS; Greenhills College; Assumption Secondary School, Walkinstown; St. Paul's Secondary School, Greenhills; Tallaght Community School; Loreto Secondary School, Crumlin.
With regard to the current position concerning the future provision of post-primary education for children from the Kingswood-Castleview and Kilnamanagh areas I would refer the Deputy to my reply to her Parliamentary Question No. 258 of Wednesday, 12 October 1994.
