Vol. 445 No. 9

Written Answers. - Northern Ireland Visits.

Austin Currie

Ceist:

139 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Finance the number of occasions on which he has visited Northern Ireland since the Government was formed; the date, venue and purpose of each visit; and the same information in relation to the Minister or Ministers of State, if any, at his Department. [1541/94]

In my capacity as Minister for Finance I have made no visits to Northern Ireland since this Government was formed.

In relation to the Minister of State, Deputy Eithne Fitzgerald, one visit was made on 17 April 1993. The venue was the Wellington Park Hotel in Belfast and the purpose was to attend the SDLP Cross-Border Conference.
Deputy Noel Dempsey, Minister of State, has made no visits to Northern Ireland.
