159 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he will give an update as to the investigation being carried out into the operations of the company associated with the Clonmannon Retirement Home, County Wicklow. [1609/94]
On 7 October 1994, I appointed an officer under section 19 of the Companies Act, 1990, to examine the books and documents of a number of companies involved in the operation of the enterprise to which the Deputy refers. The authorised officer is proceeding with his examination and will report his findings as soon as possible.
I would like to re-emphasise that this matter is a sensitive one, where allegations have been made concerning various areas of law, some of which are within the aegis of other Ministers. I am anxious that the inquiries be allowed to proceed in an objective and effective manner.
