Written Answers. - Hospital Chaplains' Pay.

Eric J. Byrne

Ceist:

122 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for Health the source from which hospital chaplains are paid; and the cost of this service. [1685/94]

Chaplains working in the public health service are in receipt of stipends which are funded from moneys allocated to agencies. In 1993, a total of £1,177,979 was paid by health boards and public voluntary hospitals for chaplaincy services.
