Vol. 446 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Robert Molloy

Ceist:

202 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for the Environment if a commitment has been made to make a grant available for the repair of the dangerous stretch of road at Moyvilla, Oranmore, County Galway; and if so, when the grant will be made available to the county council. [2092/94]

Responsibility for the improvement and maintenance of the road concerned is a matter for Galway County Council using its own resources, supplemented by the discretionary State grants allocated to the council. These grants amount to £4.525 million in 1994. It is open to the council to consider whether to apply for funding in 1995 for this road under the EU co-financed scheme of specific improvement grants for non-national roads, having regard to the conditions governing the scheme.

Robert Molloy

Ceist:

203 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make special funds available to Galway County Council to enable it to be of assistance to a person (details supplied) in County Galway whose application for financial aid under the disabled persons home improvement grant scheme has been approved as work cannot be undertaken due to insufficient funding. [2093/94]

There are no funds available to me for this purpose. In the reply to the Deputy's statement on the Adjournment on 1 March 1994, I clarified the financing arrangements applying to disabled persons grants.

John O'Leary

204 Mr. O'Leary asked the Minister for the Environment when a grant will be paid in respect of the Rathbeg group water supply scheme in Rathmore, County Kerry. [2094/94]

This grant will be allocated shortly.
