170 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he has instructed his staff in Portlaoise not to speak to Oireachtas members in relation to problems with beef premium payments; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2724/94]
I did not issue an instruction to my staff in the Portlaoise office directing them not to speak to Oireachtas Members in relation to problems with beef premium payments.
In order to assist Oireachtas Members, a special inquiry unit was established in my Department on 28 February 1994 to deal with queries which any Member might have in connection with beef premium or other schemes administered by my Department.
