Ceist:

116 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment if he will list the transient traveller halting sites in place in the country with reference to local authority areas giving details of the sites available in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3912/94]

Returns from local authorities show the following information on transient halting sites as at 26 November 1993:

Information on the position in November 1994 is still being compiled.

Funding will be made available by my Department for any proposals by local authorities to provide further sites of this kind. I will also be considering any relevant recommendations which may be made by the Task Force on the Travelling Community whose final report is due later this year.
