Vol. 448 No. 1

Written Answers. - Early Farm Retirement Scheme.

Liam Hyland

Ceist:

101 Mr. Hyland asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will ensure that there will be no change to the eligibility of women who work on farms for the early farm retirement scheme; if he will have arrangements made to monitor the progress of this scheme and the other accompanying measures of CAP reform; and, if necessary, if he will introduce modifications without interfering with the basic principle of CAP. [1642/95]

I assume the Deputy is referring to the joint management situation where women who are not owners or leaseholders of a holding are eligible to apply for an early retirement pension. I have no proposals at present to make any changes to this condition of the early retirement scheme.

The schemes introduced under the accompanying measures of the CAP reform are being continuously monitored and any modifications will be considered, where necessary.
