222 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Defence the age profile of the Permanent Defence Force, both commissioned and non-commissioned ranks, for each of the years 1993 and 1994 and to date in 1995; the retirement dates for each rank in the Permanent Defence Force; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Notes

1. Officers of the ranks of Captain, Commandant and Lieutenant-Colonel may, subject to certain conditions, be allowed to continue in service up to 60 years of age.

2. Officers who hold professional qualifications and who are filling technical appointments may, subject to certain conditions, be allowed to serve up to 65 years of age.
