43 Ms Keogh asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the public relations budget allocation for his Department; the reason this sum has been allocated; and the person who has been retained to carry out the public relations function in his Department. [3418/95]
My Department has an Information Section and a Press Section at home and press officers at several embassies abroad. All those working in these areas are permanent civil servants of the Department.
In addition, part of the funds provided for Development Education under Subhead C of the Vote for International Co-operation is used to support press and information services to improve public awareness of Ireland's aid programme.
The Department has no public relations budget and no person or firm has been retained to carry out this function.
