Vol. 449 No. 7

Written Answers. - INTERREG II Funding.

John Browne

Ceist:

66 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Finance the total funding available under INTERREG II as it pertains to the Ireland East/Wales area; the breakdown of such funding; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4390/95]

The European Commission has given an indicative allocation to the Ireland/ Wales INTERREG programme of 83.5 mECU (approximately £66.8 million). Of this 70 mECU (approximately £56 million) is expected to go to the eligible regions in Ireland. These are the south-east, mid-east and Dublin regions. The draft programme is almost complete and it is expected that the Commission will be in a position to approve it in the near future.
