The latest assessment of housing needs was carried out by local authorities at 31 March 1993 and disclosed that the number of homeless persons was 2,667. Details are set out in Part IX of my Department's Annual Housing Statistics Bulletin 1993, copies of which are in the Oireachtas Library.
