Vol. 450 No. 8

Written Answers. - Contributions to Political Parties.

Robert Molloy

Ceist:

97 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if any semi-State bodies for which he is responsible have made direct or indirect financial contributions to any political party in the past three years; and, if so, if he will give details regarding these contributions, including the amounts paid and the name of each party; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6174/95]

From information furnished to my Department by the bodies referred to in the question, I understand that none of those bodies made a direct financial contribution to any political party in the past three years.

However, I also understand that one such body i.e. Údarás na Gaeltachta, paid the participation fee in a golf tournament organised by the Progressive Democrats in Oughterard, County Galway, in 1993 and 1994. The amount of the fee on each occasion was £100.
