Vol. 451 No. 4
13 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Defence if he is in breach of the Health, Safety and Welfare at Work Act by not providing adequate protective clothing for members of the Defence Forces. [5891/95]
Defence Force regulations prescribe the articles of clothing to be issued to each member of the Defence Forces. The regulations also prescribe the additional articles of clothing including protective clothing, that may be issued to members engaged on particular duties. This matter is at present under review so as to ensure that, within available resources, all members are provided with the best possible appropriate clothing for the duties upon which they are engaged.
