I understand that Quin Abbey is in a reasonable state of preservation. There are proposals to provide visitor facilities there but a number of issues remain to be resolved before they can be implemented. These issues relate in the main to difficulties in acquiring the land necessary to facilitate the proposed project and the need to close the national monument to burials.
