22 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the regulations, if any, which will be introduced to give effect to special protected area designations, particularly in Rogerstown Estuary, Fingal, County Dublin. [7251/95]
I will shortly be making regulations under the European Communities Act, 1972 to transpose Council Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora (Habitats Directive) into Irish law. The provisions of these regulations will give added protection to special protection areas designated under Council Direc-tive 49/709 EEC on the conservation of wild birds.
