91 Dr. Moffatt asked the Minister for Health, in view of the recent announcements by the Minister of State at his Department, if he will make a similar announcement regarding the second phase of the Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar, together with the inclusion of an orthopaedic unit at this hospital. Limerick East): The question of including orthopaedic facilities as part of the Phase 2 development of Mayo General Hospital is under active consideration in my Department. There are a number of service issues which are being examined at present in relation to this proposal in conjunction with the Western Health Board. However, it is expected that a decision will be made in the matter within the next few weeks.
