I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy O'Dea — the unsatisfactory situation that pertains as a result of the detention of people who are adjudged guilty but insane; and the consequent danger to which the public may be exposed; (2) Deputy Quill — the action, if any, proposed following Ireland's first ozone pollution alert issued at Glashaboy, Cork, on Saturday, 27 May; (3) Deputy Andrews — the proposed reduction in the status of the post office on Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin; and the concern of staff and the inconvenience to the local community arising from this proposal; (4) Deputy Martin — the need to clarify the situation regarding the quota imposed on higher diploma in education places in our universities; (5) Deputy Eric Byrne — the need for urgent action to be taken on the findings and recommendations of the 1994 annual report of the Mountjoy Prison Visiting Committee.

Three of the matters raised are in order and have been selected for discussion accordingly. For the information of Members the matters will be taken in the following order: Deputies Quill, O'Dea and Eric Byrne.
