Vol. 453 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers.

Ceisteanna chun an Taoisigh——

On a point of order, I tabled a question——

This is most unusual and, perhaps, unprecedented.

I appreciate that, but in relation to a question tabled by me——

It does not arise now. If the Deputy feels that the question has been treated wrongly he should communicate with me.

May I make the point——

No, the Deputy is guilty of grave disorder.

I agreed to the Order of Business——

I ask the Deputy to resume his seat forthwith.

I agreed to the Order of Business on the basis that questions would be left on the Order Paper. The Government Chief Whip would acknowledge this.

The Standing Orders of this House ordain that Question Time shall commence at 2.30 p.m. and I will not allow the Deputy to subvert the proceedings.

I agreed with the Chief Whip that questions would remain on the Order Paper but they were excised.

If the Deputy persists——

I would like the Government Chief Whip to acknowledge that fact.

There will be no comment at this stage.

A Cheann Comhairle——

——I also tabled a question which has been disallowed.

I am proceeding to Question No. 1.

I would like the reply to be looked at.

I deplore this conduct; it is unprecedented.

What has happened is unprecedented.

So much for openness.

Blackguardism.

I must interrupt; I insist that you withdraw that comment, it is inappropriate.

I am sorry; the Chair is quite annoyed at present.

I appreciate that. May I take it that you have withdrawn the comment?
