Vol. 453 No. 6

Written Answers. - Leinster House.

Liam Burke

Ceist:

33 Mr. L. Burke asked the Minister for Finance the budgeted programme of work that was planned for Leinster House this year; if it would make the building more user-friendly; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9740/95]

The following projects will be undertaken this year as part of the ongoing programme of maintenance and improvement works at Leinster House.

External Works: completion of the stonework restoration on the Kildare Street facade at Leinster House; resurfacing of the Leinster Lawn and Kildare Street car parks; additional security cameras and lighting.

1996 Office Block: new carpeting on all floors; upgrading of toilets; refurbishment of the Members' dining room.

In addition a programme of minor works will be undertaken by Office of Public Works staff based in Leinster House. I am satisfied that these works, together with those undertaken since this programme commenced, will significantly improve the standard of accommodation within the Houses of the Oireachtas.
