Written Answers. - Recreational Scheme Grant.
My Department has received an application from the GAA club in question under the recreational facilities scheme. The current position is that the £2 million provided for this scheme in 1995 is committed to existing projects where grants were allocated in 1994 and where claims for payment will arise this year. The allocation of a grant to any new project can only be considered in the event of additional funds being provided for the scheme.
Numerous requests for meetings in respect of such projects have been received by the Minister of State at my Department and the Deputy's request to meet a deputation from the club in question is also under consideration.
