Vol. 453 No. 6

Written Answers. - Kildare Place (Dublin) School.

Eric J. Byrne

Ceist:

84 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for Education if she will accede to the request of the Kildare Place national school, the practising school of the Church of Ireland College of Education, for the necessary sanction to proceed with the building of additional classrooms for remedial education, computer instruction and library facilities; her views on whether the contribution of £50,000 which the school has raised represents a substantial commitment by the school itself to this project which has been costed at £86,000; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9674/95]

I am not yet in a position to take a decision in relation to additional accommodation for the Kildare Place national school. A survey of the school's accommodation was completed recently and when this has been considered I would hope to be able to convey a decision to the school authorities.

The question of the school's contribution to the cost of a project will be considered in the light of the decision on the accommodation warranted.
