The Government's plans in relation to social housing are set out in detail in the policy document Social Housing — The Way Ahead. This was published on 2 May 1995 and a copy was supplied to each Deputy on the same day. The document indicates that, on the basis of current policies and resources, all the social housing programmes taken together will cater for the housing needs of over 9,500 households in 1995 and 10,000 in 1996, compared to just over 6,100 in 1992.
