The applicant was visited by Teagasc in mid-March and has supplied additional material in connection with his application which is currently being assessed by them. If everything is found to be in order the file will be passed to the Department.

Ceist:158 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary who sold a milk quota; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10304/95]
The person named is a participant in the 1995 milk quota restructuring scheme. Milk quota surrendered under a restructuring scheme is made available to other suppliers within the same co-operative/dairy area at a price similar to that paid to the outgoing producer. It has not been possible to finalise the conditions governing the sale of quota thus surrendered pending the outcome of negotiations with the EU Commission on the terms of the accompanying subsidy scheme. It is hoped to have this process completed very soon.
