Vol. 454 No. 5
33 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs when Traynor's Bridge at Skerrymore, on the Armagh/Monaghan border, will be reopened. [11068/95]
Approximately three quarters of all Border crossings have now been reopened. Among the remainder there are 14 bridge crossings, including Traynor's Bridge. Responsibility for the reconstruction of this particular crossing rests with the Northern Ireland Department of the Environment. I am informed that design work for the bridge has been submitted for approval and, once this is granted, work on the bridge will get under way. It is expected to take three to four months to complete. I will continue to keep this matter under review to ensure that Traynor's Bridge is reopened at the earliest possible date.
