122 Mr. Hilliard asked the Minister for the Environment the current position regarding the £2.61 million grant approved for the Ashbourne water supply, County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11474/95]
129 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for the Environment if a letter dated 28 March 1995, from his Department to the Meath County Manager which indicated that he was prepared to allocate a maximum sum of £2.61 million for a new water scheme to serve the Ashbourne area constituted a commitment to make this money available on condition that agreement to the proposal was confirmed by the county manager; if not, the purpose of the letter; if so, whether the county manager confirmed his agreement to the proposal set out in the letter; the date on which a revised preliminary report in relation to the scheme was submitted to his Department; if the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 54 of 9 May 1995, should be regarded as reflecting a change of attitude on his part regarding the provision of funding for the scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11298/95]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 122 and 129 together.
As stated in reply to Question No. 54 of 9 May 1995, a revised preliminary report for a new water scheme to serve Ashbourne has been submitted to my Department. The revised report costs the proposal at £2.61 million which corresponds to the maximum sum allocated for the scheme by my Department in a letter of 28 March 1994 to the Meath county manager.
