Vol. 454 No. 7

Written Answers. - Burren (Clare) National Park.

Tony Killeen

Ceist:

57 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if the views of the co-ordinating committee on the Tourism Operational Programme were sought by the Government in advance of its decision to abandon the proposed Burren National Park project; the advice, if any, received from the committee; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11454/95]

Before submitting my proposals to Government regarding the future of the visitor centres in the Boyne Valley, Wicklow National Park and the Burren National Park my Department consulted with other relevant Government Departments including the Department of Tourism and Trade. I am not aware that the co-ordianting committee on the tourism operational programme was consulted in the matter.
