291 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Justice if national lottery funding is made available to her Department to finance a scheme of grants; and if she will give details of this funding and the procedures involved for application. [13096/95]
The purpose for which the net proceeds of the national lottery may be applied are those as defined in section 5 of the National Lottery Act, 1986. None of the general purposes as defined by that section come within the scope of my Department's activities and I can inform the Deputy that there was no national lottery funding applied for by my Department since the introduction of the National Lottery Act, 1986, and that there is, at present, no scheme of grants involving national lottery funding in place in relation to my Department.
