Vol. 456 No. 3

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Brian Cowen — the steps being taken to deal with the crisis in the sheep industry; (2) Deputy Austin Deasy — the collapse of the Celtworld project in Tramore, County Waterford, resulting in considerable losses for private investors, the EU and Tramore Fáilte; (3) Deputy Tom Kitt — the action being taken to prevent further nuclear testing by France following its second test in the South Pacific; (4) Deputy Eric Byrne — the need for EU Governments to continue exerting pressure on the French authorities to abandon their series of nuclear tests in the South Pacific following the detonation of a second device on 2 October, and to allow European Commission inspectors unrestricted access to all testing sites so that the health and safety effects of the explosions can be accurately monitored; (5) Deputy Batt O'Keeffe — the unnecessary and costly practice of transferring circuit court cases from Cork to Dublin.

I have selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Cowen, Tom Kitt, Batt O'Keeffe and Deasy.
