57 Mr. B. Ahern asked the Minister for Finance if he will publish the ranking of countries in the 1996 World Competitiveness Report compared to 1994, the World Bank's rankings on income per capita, 1995, compared to 1994, the World Bank's new table for the Washington Conference on the Environment on the wealth of nations, and the UNDP's indicator of human developments, 1995, compared to 1994. I will seek to obtain and place before the House copies of the World Competitiveness Report 1995, prepared by the World Economic Forum and the International Institute for Management Development. I take it that this is the document to which the Deputy refers, since I have no knowledge of a 1996 report.
The most up-to-date comprehensive data from the World Bank on income per capita relate to 1993. These are published in the World Bank Atlas 1994 which I am also making arrangements to have placed before the House.
I have obtained and placed with the Library of the House the World Bank's document Monitoring Environmental Progress, which will be formally presented at the Conference on Effective Financing of Environmentally Sustainable Development to be held in Washington D.C. on 4-6 October. The information contained therein is accordingly available to Deputies.
