Vol. 457 No. 1

Written Answers. - Transfer of Housing Stock.

Eamon Walsh

Ceist:

114 Mr. E. Walsh asked the Minister for the Environment the progress, if any, being made in the transfer of Dublin Corporation houses in south Dublin to South Dublin County Council; the provisions being made to ensure that South Dublin County Council will be given adequate resources to deal with the serious problems associated with the condition of that housing stock; the time-scale in which the transfer will take place in view of the fact that persons who occupy these houses are expressing concerns at the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15034/95]

There is a wide divergence between the transfer scheme prepared by the Dublin City manager and the submission made on the scheme by the South Dublin county manager. These managers, together with those of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown and Fingal, are in contact in an effort to establish what scope there may be for achieving a greater level of agreement on the complex issues involved. Pending the outcome of these contacts. I am not in a position to indicate a definite time frame for final decisions but I am anxious to see the issues resolved as early as possible.
