Limerick East): I propose to take Questions Nos. 82, 84, 85 and 86 together.

The Midland Health Board is responsible for the management of services and deploying of staff at St. Loman's Psychiatric Hospital, Mullingar, County Westmeath. Current personnel policy for the health service provides that health agencies which are managing resources within their allocations may fill non-consultant replacement posts, including nursing vacancies, without recourse to my Department.

There is currently a vacancy for one nursing officer in St. Loman's Hospital. This post was advertised in September 1995 and interviews will be held in due course.

With the exception of this vacancy the board has indicated that all nursing posts are currently filled in either a permanent or a temporary capacity.
A panel was established on 4 April 1995 to fill permanent posts, and the board is presently in discussion with the staff representative associations concerning the conversion of posts from temporary to permanent.
The information sought by the Deputy in relation to the positions of nursing officer and deputy nursing officer is set out in the attached tabular statement.
