Vol. 457 No. 4

Written Answers. - Ballyshannon Sewerage Scheme.

Mary Coughlan

Ceist:

211 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Defence if his Department has completed the sale of lands at Finner, Ballyshannon, County Donegal to Donegal County Council for the purpose of an out-flow for the Ballyshannon sewerage scheme. [15436/95]

As stated in the reply to Question No. 268 on 25 April 1995 proposals regarding a major review of the Ballyshannon waste water system were received by the Department from Donegal County Council.

These proposals were the subject of an on-site meeting at Finner Camp on 4 May 1995 at which officials from the Department and representatives from Donegal County Council were present. It was agreed at the meeting that the council would finalise the design and location details of the proposed sewerage treatment plant after which the question of the required site would be pursued with the Department by Donegal County Council. The council has not as yet reverted to the Department in the matter but the Deputy can be assured of the Department's full co-operation.
