Limerick East): Responsibility for the administration of the respite care grant scheme was transferred to my Department from the Department of Social Welfare with effect from 1995. The total amount available in 1995 to fund grants from the scheme is £500,000 and these funds are distributed by health boards subject to certain conditions. The amount allocated in 1995 to each health board is as follows: Eastern Health Board, £185,000; Midland Health Board, £30,000; Mid-Western Health Board, £40,000; North Eastern Health Board, £40,000; North Western Health Board, £30,000; South Eastern Health Board, £50,000; Southern Health Board, £75,000; Western Health Board, £50,000.
No grant has been made by the Mid-Western Health Board from the respite care grant scheme to the group in Limerick (details suppied). I have been informed by the health board that no request for funds has been received from the group.
