91 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Health if he has made any announcement since 15 December 1994, regarding the location or relocation of any institution, organisation, project or scheme involving public funds, which come under the aegis of his Department, in his Dáil constituency; if any of his Ministers of State have made similar announcements in relation to their own Dáil constituencies; if he will give details of these announcements; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Limerick East): Since 15 December 1995 announcements have been made as part of the on-going programme of development in the health services; additional funding for St. Gabriel's school for physically handicapped children—£40,000 in a full year — and for the development of a replacement clinic adjoining St. Paul's national school — a £244,000 once off payment; £85,000 for a new training centre at Dooradoyle for vocational training for people with disabilities; the approval of a proposal from the Mid-Western Health Board to transfer 36 persons with mental handicap from St. Joseph's Hospital, Limerick to more appropriate placements in the region's mental handicap services; £150,000 towards the opening of a high support community residence and a day care centre on the Ennis Road in Limerick; and a revised general nurse education and traning programme commenced in the School of Nursing, Limerick in October 1995 leading to the award of a Diploma in Nursing from the University of Limerick and registration as a general nurse with An Board Altranais.

The Minister of State, Deputy O'Shea, made announcements in relation to: A young chronic sick unit, a £322,500 once-off expenditure; and as part of the additional funding provided for the mental handicap services in 1995, £781,000 was allocated to the South-Eastern Health Board region. Included in these developments was the provision of 12 additional residential places, 12 day care places and the extension of pre-school services in Dungarvan.

The Minister of State, Deputy Currie made announcements in relation to: the development by the Eastern Health Board of a special care facility for children who are out of control to be located at Killinarden House near St. Loman's Hospital, Palmerstown, County Dublin; the transfer of a residential facility for travelling children from Newtownmountkennedy. County Wicklow to Ballyowen Meadows in Clondalkin, Dublin; a day activity centre in Clondalkin-Blanchardstown — a £223,000 once-off expenditure; and additional services to be provided by Stewart's Hospital, Palmerstown including five residential places and 14 day care places.
