94 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the supports, if any, that are available for the establishment of ostrich farming units in the State; and the plans, if any, he has to improve the support; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15729/95]

There are no proposals to assist the establishment of ostrich farming units. Ostrich farming is considered poultry substitute by the EC and therefore grant aiding is prohibited under Regulation 2328/91.
