Ceist:63 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Taoiseach the number of people employed in fell mongering and the leather industry in this country; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17715/95]
Written Answers. - Fabric Industry Employment.
(1) The estimated number of persons engaged in June 1995 in the wool industry (which includes the fellmongering industry) is 1,254.
(2) The estimated number of persons engaged in June 1995 in the leather industry is 667.
These estimates are derived from the Quarterly Industrial Inquiry conducted by the Central Statistics Office in respect of March, June, September and December of each year.
