Written Answers. - Seaside Town Renewal Scheme.
The pilot scheme for seaside resorts, which I announced in this year's budget, came into effect last July for a three year period. The scheme is in operation in fifteen seaside towns around the country. Until this pilot scheme is firmly established it would seem inappropriate to consider the extension of this scheme to any further towns. Consequently, I have no plans to widen the existing designated areas under the scheme or to include additional seaside towns.
