88 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for Health if he will give favourable consideration to the appointment of a representative from the Irish Registered Nursing Homes' Association to each health board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17830/95]
Limerick East): I am currently considering the question of representation on health boards in the context of the proposals in the Health Strategy to end direct funding of certain voluntary agencies. I will take the views and concerns of all sectors involved in the provision and delivery of healthcare into account in making my decisions. The Deputy will appreciate, however, that it will not be possible to appoint representatives of all the many interested parties to positions at board level.
