30 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for Health the additional funding, if any, he proposes to make available to health boards in the 1996 budget for orthodontic treatment for children in view of the large number of children awaiting treatment. [17339/95]
, Limerick East): Under the dental health action plan an additional £1.65 million is being made available to health boards on an annual basis specifically for development of their orthodontic services. This has enabled additional consultant-led dental teams to be appointed and considerable infrastructural development to take place in the orthodontic services.
Proposals for further developments in 1996 are still under consideration in the context of the Health Estimates for 1996.
