Vol. 459 No. 7

Written Answers. - Lisdoonvarna (Clare) Sewerage Scheme.

Tony Killeen

Ceist:

88 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for the Environment when his Department will approve Clare County Council's most recent proposals regarding tenders and contract documents for Lisdoonvarna water and sewerage scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18858/95]

Contract documents for site investigations and manhole surveys in connection with the planning of the Lisdoonvarna sewerage scheme were recently received in my Department and are being examined. Contract documents for the construction of the Lisdoonvarna water supply scheme, costing an estimated £6.2 million, are also with my Department.

Both schemes have been included in stage one of the Burren and North Clare water services plan which has been submitted to the European Commission for financing under the Cohesion Fund. Financial approval of the projects must await the outcome of this application.
