Vol. 459 No. 7

Written Answers. - Dungarvan (Waterford) School.

Austin Deasy

Ceist:

51 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education if she will grant approval on the second stage report on the proposed new vocational school at Dungarvan, County Waterford, which is with her Department since 20 October 1995. [17360/95]

The second stage report for the proposed new vocational school at Dungarvan, County Waterford, has been examined by my Department's building unit. The examination of the report has resulted in a number of technical issues being raised.

Accordingly, my Department is arranging to meet the school's consultant architect in order to discuss the submission.

When the necessary revisions to this stage of the architectural planning have been made, County Waterford Vocational Education Committee will be authorised to proceed with the next stage of the planning process.
When architectural planning has been completed, the question of allowing the project to proceed to construction will arise. As this will depend on the availability of capital resources, I am not in a position at the moment to say when building will start.
